General Information
With a population of nearly 20,000, White Rock is the southernmost city in the Greater Vancouver, lower mainland area, located just 45 kilometers from Vancouver. The boundaries stretch from 140th Street west to Stayte Road, and from 16th Avenue south to Marine Drive. The Peace Arch U.S.-Canada border crossing is only a few minutes away.
Centered around an eight kilometer sandy beach and the shallow waters of Leslie Bay, White Rock is famous for its 1,500-foot-long pier, its 2.5km-long beach promenade, and the massive 486-ton white boulder that is its namesake. White Rock’s position on the Semiahmoo Peninsula makes it a unique environment, boasting beautiful beaches and a climate that is one of the most moderate in Canada. Thriving commercial centers, good schools, ample recreation, a beautiful physical setting, and its proximity to Vancouver make White Rock an ideal place to purchase a home.

Restaurants and Shopping
A large variety of business, restaurants, and shopping centres can be found along the waterfront and in the town centre. White Rock offers all the arts and culture of a thriving city in a more serene, natural setting than it’s northern neighbor, Vancouver. Annual festivals abound here, including Sea Festival, Mayfair, Christmas by the Sea, and the Festival of Lights. With galleries and a wealth of first-class dining establishments, White Rock residents are never lacking for entertainment.

Schools & Parks
White Rock is served by Public School District 36 Surrey. This is the largest school district in British Columbia, also serving the communities of Surrey, Cloverdale, and Barnston Island. District 36 includes 99 elementary schools, 20 secondary schools,and 6 learning centres. In addition, there are several private schools, including Holy Cross Regional High School.
Parks and recreation areas abound in White Rock. With over 15 golf courses within a 15-minute drive of city center, it’s not surprising that it’s been named the Golf Capital of Canada, boasting world class courses for the pro and novice alike.
